What a magnificent site for our 25th anniversary celebration!! The myriad sounds of waves on rocks and birds of all kinds, all colors, feathers and chirps, magnificent floral displays, lobster-men pulling their traps… directly outside the cottage. The salty sea air and intoxicating smell of the pine trees - Suite Thyme is a little bit of heaven on earth.

Suite Thyme was amazing!
We were speechless when we turned into the driveway! The beautiful Atlantic was there in all her glory. We made our way up the steps and into Suite Thyme. The pictures just don't do it justice. She is decorated so cute. Even after being there for days, I was still finding things I hadn't seen before. Everything is SO CLEAN! It's like a brand new house and you are the first person to live there. The antique furnishings are very nice and comfy. There are puzzles, games, books, dvds, etc. ... We enjoyed spending time on the deck watching the crashing surf and the lobster boats in the mornings. We had a Ruby Throat Hummingbird visit everyday. The flowers around Suite Thyme are beautiful and when the windows are open, the smell of the roses and lilacs drift in.

Next Year Awaits.
This year’s stay at Suite Thyme has been absolutely terrific (as always). The peace and relaxation I find here sustain me throughout the year. We’ve enjoyed every minute. The cool sea breeze on the deck is lovely, the sound of the waves, hypnotic. It is always hard to leave, but next year awaits.

This place is a Class Act...and so is its owner.
Exceptional! We can't say enough about this special rental. We love this area of Maine and always look forward to a visit. . So we knew we would enjoy our time there. When we drove in the driveway we were blown away at the view. There it was...the ocean...just a few yards away...for us to enjoy with morning coffee, or an evening glass of wine, and throughout the day. We could sit on our deck, in the Adirondack chairs feet from the shore or sitting out on the rocks. The property was private and beautiful. The apartment was lovely...very nicely decorated, not to mention immaculate. Marilyn, our hostess, thought of absolutely everything, and then some, to ensure every possible need was met. And then if that wasn't more than enough, Marilyn had put together a 15 page notebook, with great detail, places to visit, things to see, where to eat, within an hour or so in either direction. Even things to do on a rainy day. Most of her suggestions you would never know about unless you were a local. This made our time there even so much more enjoyable. Like where to see the best sunset, just minutes away. There was so much love and care expressed in Suite Thyme, that you could see it throughout our time there.
We had the pleasure of meeting Marilyn at the beginning of our stay. She was warm, welcoming & fun! She made herself available for any need we might have. We look forward to seeing her again when we return. Oh yes! We have to go back!
Suite Thyme is such a beautiful and peaceful place to spend any vacation. I highly recommend it! You'll be so glad you did!

My wife and 27 year old son just completed our July 2018, one week stay at Suitethyme. It was a wonderful experience. Marilyn the owner has thought of almost everything you would want or need in this delightful carriage house. My wife couldn't stop talking about how wonderful the ocean view was. With the windows open, you can hear the waves breaking. It's a terrific sound to wake up to. Plenty of things to do in the area. Marilyn also provides you with a 14 page breakdown of activities available in the area, which was most helpful. It's an easy walk in to the village of New Harbor where there is a supermarket, ice cream shop, and a couple of restaurants. I have nothing bad to say. You will love this place.

Suite Thyme cottage is a wonderfully peaceful escape from the stresses in life. This cottage is well appointed with a spectacular location and view. At times the only sounds you hear are the waves.. no man made noises at all. Watch the lobster boats collect their traps just 30 feet from shore. Sit on the rocks and contemplate life.
We’ve stayed one week here for about five summers in a row. Can’t think of anywhere else I’d rather be. The proprietors, John and Marilyn, are simply terrific.
We just left Suite Thyme this morning and I miss it already...

My husband and I have spent two lovely weeks at Suite Thyme and this is by far our favorite vacation destination. Marilyn and John welcome guests with an immaculate and comfortable cottage, everything that is needed to enjoy your own cooking or information on all the delightful eating establishments nearby. We can't say enough about our enjoyment of Suite Thyme and the surroundings. Sitting in those Adirondack chairs, reading, listening to the ocean crash on the huge rocks is absolutely therapeutic.

This is a gem on the open ocean. Fall asleep listening to the crashing waves at high tide. Suite Thyme Carriage House is a comfy, sparkling clean guest retreat with lots of nautical decor. The owners provide everything you will need to make you feel at home. Views are breathtaking, even in the rain. Lobstermen bring in their catch right at the edge of the lawn. My favorite seat is down on the rocky shore. Sit, read, or daydream. It's all about the view and peace the ocean brings.

Midcoast Gem.
We have returned to this special carriage house for several years. Our visit always leaves us feeling so relaxed and rested. The village of New Harbor is such a warm and quaint village offering spectacular views of lobstering and the open ocean. This property allows you to walk on the coastal rocks, wander casually to an active harbor or walk to the local market for fresh baked goodies every morning. You will enjoy the immaculate accommodation of "Suite Thyme" and fall asleep to the sound of the waves. Fully equipped kitchen to prepare meals or browse through the information that has been prepared by the owners. There are many local spots for the best lobster and seafood Maine has to offer. We just can't say enough about this special place!

A Bit of Heaven!
My wife & I stayed in Suite Thyme cottage for a week. The cottage is attractive, clean, comfortable, quiet & well equipped. It has a beautiful view of open ocean, waves crashing on large rocks, and Maine pines. The owners live in a larger home on the property and are welcoming and helpful. We can't think of a single downside to this property, and hope to return......Our favorite restaurant was the Anchor in the neighboring town of Round Pond.

Wonderful Place to stay in Maine
This is the perfect spot to decompress from all of your worries. A beautifully decorated apartment with everything you need. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking utensils and all of your needs. The view is spectacular with quiet and peaceful surroundings. The owners take great pride in their place and it shows. They are lovely people and make you feel like it is your home. If coming to the Pemquid Peninsula this is a wonderful place to stay.

A place to call home......
After selling my house near the city, I was looking to experience coastal living. Suite Thyme provided a peaceful place to watch a beautiful New England winter roll in along the shore. Just steps to the water's edge and trails nearby to snow shoe, this quiet setting is perfect for relaxing and taking in nature. I have seen bald eagles nearby and heard the loons calling to each other. Views of the sunrise and of the moonrise on the water are equally spectacular.
The cottage itself is beautifully furnished and fully equipped. With the convenience of a washer and dryer, it made a great fit for my long term needs.
John and Marilyn made sure snow removal was not an issue.They have been more than kind and helpful throughout my stay.
I feel embraced by the community. The town's people and work force are wonderful. I am now searching for a year round rental in the area. I know clearly now that I must live here and I owe it to Marilyn for opening her heart and (winter) rental to me. This is "the way life should be".

A Little Piece of Heaven.
We love vacationing in Maine. This was our first time in New Harbor ME. Suite Thyme Cottage was magnificent. The house was immaculate which meant a lot to us. Having the ocean for our front yard was amazing as we listened to the sounds of the waves crashing against the rocks; so very relaxing. The house was very comfortable and was well equipped with everything we needed. Lots of great restaurants, so much to see and do. The owners Marilyn and John as well as the caretaker, Sheila couldn't have been more helpful. We are coming back to this little piece of heaven next year. This was our best Maine vacation since we began coming in 2006. The lobster, none better..

Wonderful, Serene Stay on The Coast of Maine.
“Suite Thyme” met all of our criteria for a trip to Maine. It is a clean, extremely well-maintained carriage house sixty yards from the rocky coast, with a spectacular view of the Atlantic Ocean, and small rocky islands. It is without question one of the most peaceful, and beautiful places my wife and I have ever stayed. Leave the windows open at night and
enjoy the sounds of waves crashing onto the rocky coast. Get up in the morning and view one of the most beautiful views any vacation could ever offer. Just miles down the road, is Pemaquid Point Lighthouse, an American icon made famous in pictures and paintings. Just down the street is a lobster-fishing village, New Harbor, Maine, where you can enjoy fresh lobster at Shaws. You can sit at the outdoor porch and watch your supper come into port on the lobster boats. This location offers not only a peaceful setting, but also is in great proximity to other Maine towns and villages. All of the attractions, which might prompt you to take a vacation to Maine, are within a short drive of Suite Thyme, and yet, you still have the serenity of this rental every night.
This rental, for us, embodies all the experiences, which we wanted during a visit to Maine. An added benefit was to meet John and Marilyn Darack, the owners of “Suite Thyme”. They are very nice people who we want to get to know better in the future. All we can say is, “What a great vacation we had at Suite Thyme!”

What a great place to stay on the Maine coast.
Very clean and very comfortable, with an amazing back yard, the crashing waves of the ocean against the rocky shoreline. Amazing views. Could hear the crashing waves from our bedroom even with the doors closed. Very well-manicured property, with a couple of Adirondack chairs to sit and enjoy the view. Also chairs on the deck to enjoy the beautiful view. Can easily walk down to the rocks to get up close to the ocean. Boat tours very nearby, good selection of restaurants, lighthouse nearby. A very nice stay, and would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay right on the ocean in Maine.

A Great Stay.
This has been a wonderful place to celebrate our 40th anniversary. We've visited coastal Maine regularly over the past 27 years and few visits measured up to this one. The weather was nice and the Pemaquid/New Harbor area is always great, but the cottage was outstanding, particularly in its setting near the crashing shore. We had great views from the living room, the deck, the lawn and the rocky shore. The amenities are all there to make us feel at home. And the owners, Marilyn and John, are so nice and keep the cottage clean and maintained well. They were very helpful and friendly, but not intrusive. We really hope to return.

RARE TREASURE.
Suite Thyme is an incredible cottage if you are wanting to experience the sights, smells, and sounds of Maine at its best. We loved the ocean view as well as the sounds of the waves hitting the rocks. In fact we slept with the sliding door open so that we didn't miss a thing. The Adirondacks on the deck were perfect for sunning, reading, and snoozing. It was everything we hoped for...and more! John and Marilyn are meticulous about maintaining the cottage AND the grounds as well. They did a super job of informing us of their favorite places to eat and explore...and even told us about their "secret" lobsterman who delivered lobsters right to our door! This cottage felt like home...right down to the gas stove and the fleece blanket. We look forward to returning and will share this treasure with others!
